Who We Are
If you have found your way here because you're new to Ridgewood, you've chosen a wonderful place to live and we hope you will consider joining us! And if you've been part of the Ridgewood community already, you are always welcome to be a Newcomer again!
Founded in 1947, Newcomers has been an important part of our village for decades. Past and present Ridgewood residents have myriad stories of memorable events and lifelong friendships forged through this club. Join us for an upcoming event and find your friends in the neighborhood!
What We Do
Throughout the year, select events feature a donation or fundraising component that benefits a local nonprofit whose work our board has chosen to support. Past support has been directed to the Ridgewood YMCA; Oasis - A Haven for Women and Children; Social Services Association of Ridgewood; and other organizations.
All of what Newcomers accomplishes each year is made possible by its volunteer leadership board who serve in terms of 1-2 years. This dedicated group of 25-30 residents meets regularly to plan an engaging slate of events for members. There is no requirement for years of club membership to serve on the board, so we hope you will consider becoming a Newcomers Board member!
